Within the framework of the project Tracking Violent Crimes Against Women, on March 9, the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs hosted a presentation of the Web-portal at Rooms Hotel Tbilisi.
The evening was hosted by Tina Tsomaia, professor of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, coordinator of the project.
Nino Ivanishvili, Dean of the Caucasus School of Multimedia Journalism and Media Management at GIPA, and Ketevan Khutsishvili, Program Manager of EU Delegation to Georgia, addressed the guests.
The members of the project team presented the structure of the Web-portal www.femicide.ge and the basic principles of working with the database created using modern visualization methods.
Nato Gagnidze, Director of Innovations and Reforms Center spoke about the legal framework of the Web-portal.
GIPA journalism students presented their multimedia and transmedia projects.
In the final part of the presentation, writer Lasha Bughadze discussed the issue of violence against women in the literary context.
The evening was attended by representatives of organizations working on women’s issues, as well as representatives of political and academic circles and other citizens interested in the topic.
After the event the buffet was held.
