This decree regulates the conditions of identification and determination of the status of the victims of violence against women and/or domestic violence, for the group assigning the victim’s status, together with the authorizations of the participants in the victim’s status assignment process.

Council of Europe Convention (Istanbul Convention) on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Full version) This Convention has been ratified by the Decree (N543 – IIs, April 5, 2017) of the Georgian Parliament, and is effective since September 1, 2017. The said Convention covers all forms of violence against women, including the domestic violence. The Convention is applicable to any victims of the domestic violence and upon implementation of the provisions of this Convention the member countries ensure special attention to women victims of the gender-based violence.
